Tradition Hospital is looking to add a Physical Therapist to the team who will work with patients in an outpatient setting.Physical Therapists test muscle strength, the amount of flexibility in joints, and the ability to walk or move. Treatments include exercises to increase strength, range of motion, endurance, and coordination, the use of heat, cold, electricity, or even aquatics to relieve pain, and teaching exercises and body mechanics to avoid injury or regain function. Since this position requires physical interaction with patients, Physical Therapists are highly connected with patients and build stronger patient relationships than most other health sciences specialists. Often, physical therapy patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important. Equally important is giving patients the drive and support they need to work hard and regain their health.
A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 4:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
Interpret plans and supervise patient treatmentsin accordance withthephysicianreferral, ensuring the care,safetyand wellbeing of the patient.
Review and evaluate the patient's response orlack thereoftotreatment.
Make recommendations to the physicianrelativeto the need to continue ordiscontinuephysical therapy treatment.
Provideappropriate documentationof eachpatientvisitin accordance withdepartmental policies and procedures.
Be responsible forthe maintenance and care of all equipment and apparatus.
Be responsible forthe economical use of supplies,linensand utilities.
Provideappropriate billingfor each patient visitin accordance withdepartmental policies and procedures.
Assistin on-the-job training of all ancillary personnel.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree or certificate
Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or related international degree
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Internship experience
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
