Job Description
We anticipate a postdoctoral position opening in the area of application of artificial intelligence in synchrotron x-ray scattering studies on advanced materials. The successful candidate will develop AI agents for x-ray scattering data analysis and atomic structure modeling by integrating large language models with physics-aware workflows.Position Requirements
• A recent PhD (completed within 5 years, or soon to be completed) in computer science, engineering, computational science, a physical science (materials science, chemistry, physics etc.), or related field.
• Hands-on experience with AI frameworks and employing large language models.
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI API), agent frameworks and python scientific stacks (e.g. numpy, pandas)
• Effective written and oral communications skills.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred skills
Basic knowledge of x-ray scattering techniques and materials science
