Job Description
The Enrico Fermi Institute at the University of Chicago invites applications for a Research Scientist to be associated with the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider.The UChicago ATLAS group carries out a broad and dynamic physics program, plays a central role in major detector upgrades, and is actively engaged in Run 3 operations. The successful candidate will be expected to lead innovative searches for physics beyond the Standard Model and make significant contributions to the Inner Tracker Pixel Upgrade for the High Luminosity LHC. The Research Scientist will work closely with faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and students. The position will be primarily based at CERN, Switzerland.
The expected start date is August 1, 2026 for a one year term with possible reappointment.

Qualifications
Required
+PhD in Physics
+At least three years of postdoctoral experience
+Experience with detector development or operations
Preferred
+Experience with searches for physics Beyond the Standard Model, in particular a strong technical background with long-lived/or unconventional searches
+Experience coordinating analysis teams
