The University of Mount Union seeks candidates for a full-time position of Assistant Director of Graduate Admission. A private institution founded in 1846, Mount Union offers a rigorous and relevant academic program that is grounded in the liberal arts tradition. Mount Union currently offers graduate programs in: Master of Education, Master of Business Administration, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, MSN Family Nurse Practitioner, and M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies. The University also offers a post-baccalaureate Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing and post-graduate certificates.

Under the supervision of the Director of Admission, the Assistant Director of Graduate Admission at the University of Mount Union is responsible for attaining recruitment goals for all Mount Union graduate programs, the post-baccalaureate BSN program, and post-graduate certificate programs. This individual participates fully in all recruitment activities that lead to the achievement of the University's enrollment goals. The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission supports and guides students through the college selection process, orienting them to the offerings of the University. The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission fosters enthusiasm among professionals and prospective students seeking admission into the University of Mount Union.

This admission position requires travel on a regular schedule, which could include overnight and out-of-state travel. The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission is responsible for establishing, building, and managing both new and mature relationships between the University and organization personnel related to the graduate program offerings, as well as with community and access groups.

The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission is energetic, creative, forward-thinking and goal oriented, as well as detailed oriented with a tolerance for ambiguity. The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission will have demonstrated strengths in the areas of planning, communication and follow through. Additionally, the Assistant Director of Graduate Admission demonstrates excellent judgment and understands that effectively representing the University and achieving established goals is a constant priority.

Working in a highly confidential environment, the Assistant Director of Graduate Admission maintains high standards of personal integrity, honesty, and character. The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission is dedicated to advancing the University in a resource efficient manner and places significant priority on establishing and managing annual recruitment programs within the stipulated budget guidelines.

The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission will consult with the Director of Admission on a regular basis and is expected to exercise good judgment and to make appropriate decisions to accomplish their enrollment goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with graduate program directors, Dean of Graduate, Director of Admission, and Office of Marketing to develop and execute enrollment plans

• Actively communicates with graduate program directors, including leading regular enrollment meetings.

• Travels, as needed, throughout the year with a focus on graduate fairs and assisting program directors in establishing and maintaining partnerships. Must maintain a valid, non-suspended, Ohio driver's license at all times and meet the criteria to drive a University vehicle

• Schedules and executes various program-specific recruitment events throughout the academic year

• In collaboration with program directors, builds and maintains partnerships with corporations and other external organizations to increase enrollment in graduate, post-baccalaureate, and post-graduate programs

• Communicates with prospective students regarding admission into the University. This includes, but is not limited to, following a structured communication plan that includes calling and drafting of emails and letters to students in the admission funnel.

• Regular on campus meetings with prospective students and program directors

• Collaborates with program directors to review admission files and add admission decisions in Slate

• Tracks, analyzes and reports on admission metrics and activities to enhance data-informed decision making and improve processes

• Provides development and oversight of an annual budget

• Works with the Athletic department, faculty, and staff across campus as appropriate.

• Participation as an active member of the Office of Admission staff at all events, which may include evenings and weekends

• Responsible for the integrity and consistency of recruitment data within all graduate, post-baccalaureate Accelerated BSN, and post-graduate certificate programs.

• Provides training opportunities for Office of Admission staff on graduate programs and their enrollment processes

• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in continuing education courses, professional organizations, seminars, and workshops, reading current literature and maintaining professional contacts in the community

• Collaborates with the Director of Admission to establish and maintain effective communication flows for prospective graduate students

• Participates in University compliance training as communicated by the University and Director of Admission

• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required. Experience in higher education is preferred - particularly small, private graduate education. Preference will be given to candidates with a master's degree, 2 years experience within an admission office, and experience optimizing the enrollment funnel with graduate, distance, or adult learners. The Assistant Director of Graduate Admission must have excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills to effectively market the University. Additionally, the Assistant Director of Graduate Admission must have demonstrated experience in the successful project management and multi-tasking assigned responsibilities, including the ability to work as part of a team or independently. A valid non-suspended driver's license is required, and the successful candidate must meet the criteria to drive a University vehicle.
