Job Summary
The Nursing Simulation Operations Specialist is responsible for the daily operational coordination of clinical simulation activities within the Tanner Health School of Nursing. This role supports academic programs by ensuring efficient operations, high-quality simulation experiences, regulatory compliance, and effective use of resources. The Specialist serves as a central liaison among faculty, students, staff, and external partners to support nursing education, skills development, and clinical readiness.

Responsibilities
1 -
Simulation Operations & Coordination Coordinate, schedule, and support all nursing simulation activities, including skills labs, scenario-based simulations, check-offs, and examinations. Prepare simulation labs by setting up manikins, task trainers, supplies, equipment, and audiovisual systems. Operate and maintain simulation technology, including high¿fidelity manikins, learning management systems, and recording/debriefing software. Collaborate with faculty to implement simulation objectives, scenarios, and evaluation tools aligned with course and program outcomes. Support simulation debriefings and assist faculty during instructional activities as needed.

Program & Operational Support Manage day-to-day operational needs of the simulation and skills labs, ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to safety standards. Develop and maintain simulation schedules across programs to optimize space, staffing, and equipment utilization. Monitor and manage inventory, ordering, stocking, and tracking of simulation supplies and equipment. Assist with onboarding and training of faculty, adjuncts, staff, and student workers related to simulation operations. Support accreditation, regulatory, and programmatic requirements related to simulation use.

Administrative & Data Management Maintain accurate records related to simulation usage, equipment maintenance, competencies, and student participation. Serve as the Newnan campus student program support. Assist students with any administrative issues and serve as a liaison with the Assistant Dean for Prelicensure Nursing. Support budget tracking for simulation and operational expenses within assigned areas.

Equipment, Safety, Collaboration & Communication Ensure proper cleaning, storage, routine maintenance, and safe operation of simulation equipment and laboratory spaces. Coordinate equipment troubleshooting, repairs, vendor support, and technical assistance as needed to maintain lab functionality. Ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable state and federal safety, infection control, and regulatory standards. Serve as a key point of contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding simulation lab logistics, operations, and technical support. Collaborate with faculty, clinical partners, and external vendors to support educational initiatives and simulation¿based learning activities. Participate in college meetings, committees, and continuous quality improvement efforts related to nursing education, simulation, and applied learning environments. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree, OR Associate's Degree and 1 year of work-related experience.

Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Experience
Previous experience in simulation lab; current BLS CPR certification with BLS CPR instructor; certification in Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist; familiarity with medical terminology are all preferred.

Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of standard audio-visual equipment, projectors, microphones, etc. Experience in Microsoft Office and PC platforms. Experience with providing technical support in networking, computer hardware or software. Organizational and time management skills to keep materials in order, track various projects, maintain files, and follow through assignments to completion. Ability to quickly learn new technology. Collaborate on decisions inside the institution including assisting with the purchase and maintenance of expensive lab equipment including high-fidelity patient simulators.



Physical Requirements Atmospheric Conditions - Conditions that affect the respiratory system, such as gas, fumes, odors, dust, mites, gases, or poor ventilation. Hazards - Include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current or exposure to chemicals. Lifting ¿ up to 15lbs Lifting ¿ up to 20lbs or greater

Office Environment - Work normally performed in a typical interior work environment.

Outdoor Environment - Work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.
