Job Description

Responsibilities:
As a software developer with CFFM, you will play a role in the design, implementation, and enhancement of multiple software systems related to the mission of CFFM.

The person in this role will function as a member of the software development team in an interactive, collaborative environment and will have responsibility for enhancing and adding new features to CFFM's existing projects as well as development on new projects. Under the mentorship of a senior developer, you will produce effective, robust software.

This position involves daily interaction with the rest of the CFFM software developers, the CFFM economist staff, and other user communities. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential. This position requires the ability to work effectively with and contribute to the entire team.

Work Breakdown

70% Software Development - coding, refactoring, testing and deployment in a team environment
10% Software Design - iterative development of architecture and design in conjunction with other CFFM software development and economist staff
10% Deployment and Support - support of production systems and databases as necessary
10% Other job duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required

BA/BS plus at least two years of experience, or a masters degree.
Experience should include design and development of applications for Windows desktop or web using Microsoft technologies.
Applicants must be able to pass a background check.
Preferred

Experience with .NET framework, ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, or ASP.NET Webforms.
Experience with C#, or Delphi/Object Pascal, or C++.
Experience with MS SQL Server including writing complex queries and stored procedures.
Experience with continuous integration / automated deployment tools such as Azure DevOps.
Experience with a distributed version control system (git).
Experience with Microsoft Azure.
Experience with Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
Experience with Agile principles in software development.
Knowledgeable about production agriculture.
Demonstrated strengths in communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to research and solve issues.
Demonstrated ability to deliver complete results.
Ability to handle multiple projects under pressure.
Ability to learn and adapt to new software technologies.

Products and training focus on financial planning, credit analysis, financial analysis, risk management, business planning, and commodity marketing. CFFM products are widely used by lenders, educators, and farmers across the United States. FINPACK, the Center’s flagship software product, provides a suite of tools that guide credit professionals and businesses to sound financial decisions. Other web-based tools and projects include FINPACK+, AgPlan, FINBIN, Commodity Challenge, FarmAnswers, and the Ag Risk and Farm Management Library.
