Job Description

Summary

This position serves as the primary post-award research administration professional for the Department of Medicine. The role provides expert guidance and support to section administrators and departmental staff on all aspects of post-award grant management, including effort reporting and certification through PEPT/ERS, SAP financial transactions, sponsored project budget and expense management, invoicing, financial reconciliation, and compliance with institutional, sponsor, and regulatory requirements.

Job Duties

• Provides grant program, financial, and sponsored research expertise to faculty and leadership.
• Administers grant budgets and supports annual budgeting, reporting, and financial compliance.
• Prepares, reviews, approves, and submits grant proposals, contracts, and subcontracts through institutional and sponsor systems.
• Ensures compliance with sponsor, regulatory, and institutional requirements and oversee timely regulatory submissions.
• Leads continuous improvement of pre-award and post-award grant management processes to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
• Serves as the primary liaison between faculty, institutional offices, sponsors, and external research partners.
• Manages special projects and initiatives that support research administration, compliance, and business operations.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
