Job Description

Summary

The Corradetti Lab in the Center for Precision Environmental Health is looking for a talented individual to join the team. This position requires a self-motivated candidate with research experience and a strong background in cell and molecular biology. Experience with cell culture, molecular techniques, or preclinical research is preferred. The successful candidate must be capable of independently preparing and organizing laboratory reagents, performing experiments, and maintaining detailed and accurate laboratory records. They will be expected to learn new techniques, maintain current knowledge of relevant scientific research, and continue to build upon their existing skill set.

Job Duties

  • Expands and maintains stem cell cultures and performs molecular and cellular characterization.
  • Isolates, characterizes, and quantifies extracellular vesicles (EVs) from cell culture and biological samples.
  • Assists with spina bifida animal studies, including experimental procedures, sample collection, and processing.
  • Performs molecular assays, including flow cytometry, immunostaining, and PCR-based techniques.
  • Analyzes experimental data, generates figures, and documents and reports results.
  • Maintains laboratory protocols, reagents, cell lines, and animal colonies and assists with ordering supplies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in basic science or a related field.
  • Applicants should have experience and training in advanced laboratory techniques, including cell culture, molecular and cellular biology techniques, extracellular vesicle isolation and characterization, and/or preclinical animal studies.

Work Authorization Requirement:

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
